“A lake is the landscape’s most beautiful and expressive feature. It is Earth’s eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature.”

- Henry David Thoreau

Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention

One of the primary goals for WAPOA is the prevention of Aquatic Invasive Species in our lakes.  Over the last 8 years WAPOA has spent over $275,000 to provide additional hours of inspections at boat landings on the Whitefish Chain.  In 2021 alone, WAPOA spent close to $55,000 for AIS prevention and inspections.  All of this is made possible by your membership dues and generous donations.
